Creating Art with LEDs

Three LEDs — blue, green, red — lined up on a stick in complete darkness.

A glass ball sits on a stand in the middle.

Now rotate the LEDs around the ball.

That’s when it changes.

As the lights move, they don’t just light the scene — they wrap around it. The slow shutter captures every movement, turning the rotation into spirals and swirls of colour. Red, green, and blue stretch into trails that loop and twist through the dark.

Inside the glass ball, everything flips and compresses. Outside it, the light forms patterns that feel almost drawn rather than photographed.

Nothing is random, but nothing is fixed either. Just controlled motion, light, and time working together to create something you can’t fully repeat twice.
